About Teacher
Mrs. Huberty is a local Forestvillian. She attended Forestville School and even teaches in her old First Grade classroom. Mrs. Huberty has taught drama, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade, but she especially loves teaching 1st Grade. "I love seeing the lightbulbs go on and seeing students master reading for the first time." Mrs. Huberty is also a Reading/Language Arts trainer for educators and has traveled throughout the state of California training teachers, administrators, and aides.
First Grade is an incredible year. "Room 15 is a Wonderland! Many exciting things happen in our room and we enjoy motivating our students everyday. We base our curriculum on the state standards and enrich them with creative and interactive projects and events." In Room 15, students may participate in a variety of special activities: an Unbirthday Tea Party, a Bat Extravaganza Day, a Chinese New Year Parade, an Animal Museum Day, a Rainforest unit, and an incredible Insect unit with a 10 foot tall butterfly room to name a few. Don't be absent; you never know what could happen in Room 15!
In addition to teaching First Grade, Mrs. Huberty also teaches the dramatic arts to students in the 5-8th grades after school. Her drama program is an award-winning program which received the Jack London Award for Educational Excellence. Along with her husband, Paul Huberty, Mrs. Huberty has striven to bring a strong drama program to Forestville School. Her passion for the arts has carried over into her primary classroom, and she has enjoyed producing quality plays with her young students as well. Forestville School is filled with wonderful opportunities for students, and it is her dream to keep those opportunities alive. » read more...

We have the unique privilege of sharing our campus with our charter school, Forestville Academy that allows our students enriching interaction with our older fourth through eighth grade students. Forestville School teachers and staff have created an environment that promotes a positive place for students to learn. It is greatly enhanced with the many programs, projects, events and field trips that occur at each grade level. Our curriculum uses state standards-based materials, which include: SRA/Open Court Reading, Scotts Foresman Math, Houghton-Mifflin Science and Social Studies.
